The Nomad Cafe neighborhood is getting a four-month boost, thanks to the relocation of the local Obama Campaign field office from downtown Oakland to 3225 Adeline Street (corner of Harmon, opposite side of Adeline from Spud’s Pizza) in South Berkeley. The Obama office is a welcome addition to this vacant building on a corner with a troubled history.
There will be a celebration of the office’s opening with a voter outreach & registration party this Saturday, July 26, from 2pm – 5pm. Anyone interested is encouraged to attend. Confirmed speakers are Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates and South Berkeley City Council Member Max Anderson, with invitations out to San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris and Congresswoman Barbara Lee. There will be refreshments but you are invited to bring homemade cookies or anything else to add to the mix.
Come welcome Team Obama to the neighborhood and help out with voter registration or just enjoy the event. The office staff are great and would welcome any opportunity to have your volunteer support this weekend or anytime.
Please distribute this email and/or flyer widely.

I would be interested in volunteering starting October 1. I will be out of the country until then.
